Are Low Production Quality Content More Valuable?

Oftentimes, we associate high production quality videos with high value.

But that’s not always the case.

There’s a lot of phony Internet Business Mentors that pump out content with high production value (Content that they copy from other content creators I should add) to overcompensate for the fact that their paid products don’t live up to their hype.

In fact, I’ve seen a lot of low production value content that’s much more valuable.

I’ll give you some examples.

The master email copywriter, Ben Settle, is known for creating a lot of video content just by using his phone while walking outside. The videos are far from high quality. You’ll hear the wind blowing, the camera’s shaky, and sometimes videos are shot in complete darkness.

I even got inspired by him and started my own video series back when I was active on Instagram. I would record myself speaking while walking and the camera would be pointed to the ground. Unfortunately, this series didn’t last long, but the videos I did put out were converted to audio files and embedded on my media page.

Michael Senoff, the person behind HardtoFindSeminars, has a digital library with hundreds of hours of business and marketing trainings. But, the audio quality of the trainings is terrible. People sound like they’re talking into a telephone from the 1900s, their voices don’t sound podcast-level crisp, there’s even some white noise in the background too.

But the information themselves?

Pure gold.

And even though they’re not considered video or audio, the same thing can be said about newsletter catalog type emails versus ugly plain text emails.

I was never really a fan of emails that weren’t heavily text based.

The idea of creating emails using a drag-and-drop editor, or coding them from scratch if you’re one of those backwards businesses, doesn’t sound as appealing as writing an email on a document, copying and pasting it onto your email marketing software, and hitting that send button.
